Telus bringing HTC Touch Diamond to Canada

Posted by Greg Kumparak

As if Canada doesn’t already have enough good stuff goin’ for it already, Canadian wireless carrier Telus has announced that they will be carrying the HTC Touch Diamond in its CDMA form “later this summer” (presumably by the end of September.)

This’ll make Telus the first North American operator to carry the handset. Both hardware and software-wise, the Touch Diamond is a bit of a stunner - to recall the specs, it’s got a 2.8″ touch screen, the TouchFlo 3D interface, a 3.2 megapixel camera, and 4 gigs of internal memory.

Now, would someone please announce plans to carry the HTC Touch Pro in the states before my head explodes?

  1. Is there any info when it is coming to India?

  2. Just to let you know, the phone in the picture is not actually called the Diamond. It’s the Touch Victor, although it has the same specs and software the outside is a little different. On the front the main difference is it’s not rectangular, but a little rounded, but the most significant difference is the back, as the Victor does not have the signature ‘diamond’-like surface.

  3. Oh yes, we are so lucky here in Canada. Data rates worse than third world countries, mandatory 3-year contracts, no decent phones… but hey now I’ll be able to lock myself into a Touch Diamond for 3 years and pay Telus $500/mo to use Google Maps a couple times. Sweet!
